Skye Morssinkhof Joins Forces with Brian Woldring-Walker’s Steelhead Stables

Edited Press Release

International showjumper Skye Morssinkhof has partnered up with the team of Steelhead Stables. The talented Dutch rider already has a long-working relationship with Steelhead Stables owner, Brian Woldring-Walker. They first worked together when they were both at Darragh Kenny’s Oakland Stables. With this new venture, Skye will call Steelhead Stables in Harskamp, The Netherlands, her home.

The collaboration was already taking shape, Skye had moved back from Axel Verlooy’s stables to her home in The Netherlands. Brian was looking for a rider to join him to MET II Tour Oliva in February which ended up being a very successful start of their new partnership. “I’m very happy to have Skye back with me”, Brian Woldring-Walker explains. “I know Skye’s riding as I’ve trained her for a couple of years, I know what horses suit her and am extremely positive that this step will help her achieve the goals she has for her career, as well as my future plans to grow our operation at Steelhead Stables”

Goals

“Skye was riding horses for us at Oliva very successfully, with multiple wins and placings in the Young Horse as well as the Silver & Gold divisions. It’s clear to say that she has continued to impress me, so I am looking forward to what the future will bring. To have all of us under one roof will strengthen our position by combining our strengths and our networks. We hope to service more clients all over the world for both sales and training young talent to Grand Prix level”, Brian concludes.

Partnership

Dutch rider Skye Morssinkhof, is equally excited to join the Steelhead Stables team: “I started with the idea to move back to my home country after being at other stables in the past years and after sharing my thoughts with Brian, we developed a new concept that allows us to develop my riding career further and his business more efficient as a team. After having great years as a Junior and Young Rider career, the next step for me is to get experience in the senior league. The facilities here at Steelhead Stables are amazing and I already feel at home.”

A new era for the equestrian industry

Brian continues: “My vision for the future of our industry is to create a different culture and make the environment for all our members fun and more exciting. That idea starts within our own stable and hopefully will spread throughout the entire community. We are in a sport that is old with traditions. However it doesn’t mean we can’t modernize how we work, how we do business and how we approach the horses from training to care to breeding. Skye will be a valuable member for this culture change, not just for my team, but for the future of the sport.
