Amongst all of the meticulously groomed top-level horses exhibited at the National Horse Show’s $75,000 Hunter Classic, one grey Oldenburg stood out to the judges as the most eager in the ring.

Piloted by esteemed hunter trainer Michael-Britt León, True Cassini (Cassus 2 x Gina) made the most of the two rounds, displaying all of the signs of a quintessential happy horse. At the classic’s completion, the duo was chosen by the judges as the inaugural recipient of the BioStar Happy Horse Award at the National Horse Show in Lexington, Kentucky.
Known as ‘Bubbles’ in the barn, the 13-year-old gelding owned by Kelly Sims is described as a ‘true performer’ and ‘a very positive horse’ by Britt-León.
Of the award, he shared, “the welfare of our horses is number one, and it needs to always remain number one. BioStar is doing a great job at making sure that that’s at the forefront of competition.”

With these awards, BioStar aims to help get the equestrian community into a more positive framework of acknowledging and honoring the horses and riders who are able to maintain harmony, even at the highest level of the sport.
