FORT WORTH, TX – Kaitlin Campbell and Cosm Hesed delivered a decisive, blistering jump off to take top honors in the $50,000 National Cowgirl Museum & Hall of Fame National Prix, separating themselves from reserve, Arturo Parada Vallejo and Jaguar Fighter Go, nearly three and a half seconds.
The 12-year-old gelding, Campbell’s main speed horse, showed exactly why he’s become a go-to partner in these classes. Quick across the ground and naturally responsive, Cosm Hesed enabled Campbell to execute a tactful plan from the start.
“I show against Arturo a lot in California, and I know how fast he is,” Campbell said. “So I assumed Arturo just went as fast as he possibly could, so I also needed to do that.”
Campbell executed a tight slice to the second fence and took a stride out of the last line. “My horse is really fast across the ground,” she said. “He gets a lot of really top placings in speed classes, and he’s very intuitive. You feel him even more excited to go back in when it’s a jump-off.”

The National Prix had a huge environment at the Dickee’s Arena in Fort Worth, held during the FEI World Cup Show Jumping Finals. The large, energetic crowd and arena create a lightning atmosphere. “When you land off the jump, it sounds like there’s even more people in the ring,” Campbell said. “I think he heard that and was like, ‘Oh, this is important.’”
Campbell, who is based in Temecula, California, has built her program around developing horses for exactly these kinds of moments. With support from a large team operating across multiple locations, and a group of committed owners, she continues to compete at the highest levels with consistency.
After she came out of the ring, trainer Alex Wilson summed it up, “She’s just a great talent. A thinker with a natural feel. She rides every horse she gets on, rides them well.”
Coach Susie Hutchinson agreed, adding, “They were both amazing today, weren’t they?”
Following this win, Campbell’s schedule remains packed, with upcoming stops including Mexico City and the Major League Show Jumping finals in Monterrey.
