The Adventures of Pudge and Paisley – Part 6

By VIRGINIA SHAW GENTHNER

Little Maia could tell Pudge wasn’t happy about Paisley’s arrival. She walked away from the gaggle of kids surrounding Paisley and made herway towards Pudge.

“Don’t worry Pudge” said Maia “you will be good friends with Paisley soon.” She patted him as they both watched on as the kids continued to fawn over Paisley.

“I will not be friends with her.” Thought Pudge. But he did appreciate Maia coming and checking on him.

Maia and the rest of the kids went back to chores once barn manager Katie told them they should let Paisley settle in. Paisley looked at this as an opportunity to chat with Pudge.

“So how old are you?” She started.

Pudge raised his head from his hay, “Does it matter?” He said.

“Well I just thought it would be good for us to get to know each other.” Paisley muttered.

“Huh…I think we know all we need to know.” Pudge said as he returned to munching on his hay.

Paisley got quiet and watched him eat. Maybe this new home wasn’t going to be as great as everyone said.
